The Philadelphia 76ers are off to an incredible start. Currently second in the Eastern Conference with a 10-3 record, the Sixers are a top five offensive team and are allowing the fewest points per 100 possessions in the league. Though we’re less than a month in to the season — and they’ve played the easiest schedule in the league — Philly has been one of the league’s elite teams this season.

But that’s not good enough for Jrue Holiday. He wants to go undefeated from here on out. Well, not wants exactly but if it happens, he’s fine with it. From the AP:

“I’m down to win all of them,” a smiling Holiday said. “All the home games, away games. We can go undefeated from here on out. I’m cool with that.”

Yeah, sure. Going 63-3 would be OK, I guess. Whatever’s clever. It would just mean the best winning percentage ever (.955) and the 20th most wins in a single season, even though they’re only playing 66 games this year. I can see how Jrue Holiday would find that hunky-dory.

The timing of this quote might not be the best, since the Sixers’ next three games are against the Nuggets and Hawks at home and then in Miami. Those teams have won two-thirds of their games, so there’s a pretty decent chance the 76ers start piling up losses now that they’re playing real teams.

Asked for comment, Jrue Holiday probably said, “Totally not cool.”
