For the past few seasons, Tim Duncan has worn a gigantic, bulky knee brace on his left knee that has basically served as a reminder that Tim Duncan is getting old and his career is coming to an end. It’s like the entire Spurs franchise wrapped up in a basketball accessory.
But underneath, that’s where the good stuff is. Check out this shot the guys at Pounding the Rock snapped at a recent Spurs shootaround of the inner workings of Timmy’s knee brace. If you can’t tell, that’s a Punisher skull and it looks like it’s been airbrushed, like Tim Duncan’s knee is a paneled van or something. Rumor has it, he’s got another one that’s all flamed-out.
Never in a million years would I have guessed that Tim Duncan would have a knee brace that’s anything but black. Then again, I wouldn’t have thought he’d wear skeleton shoes either and I was wrong about that.
Duncan is, at heart, a HUGE nerd.
This post reminded me about Phenomenal Swag, and how that reeeeally needs to come back.
