Remember that Air Force 1 commercial from five years ago, with LeBron, Kobe, Steve Nash, Rasheed Wallace and a few other guys looking awesome and wearing Nike’s first air-soled basketball shoe? If not, take a minute and refresh yourself because it’s awesome. Once you’re done, take note that that spot was for the 25th anniversary of the AF1, which means 2012 is the 30th anniversary of the legendary sneaker.
Now that we’re all caught up on the history of things, check out these tiny NBA dolls from Medicom, re-released to celebrate the shoe’s diamond anniversary. They run $1,500 Euros for the entire set and they’re pretty great. Based on the original spot that the updated commercial was based on, each of these little buggers measures 1/6th the size of a normal human. That means you can fit a Moses Malone, Bobby Jones, Jamaal Wilkes, Mychal Thompson, Michael Cooper and Calvin Natt in your bookbag, if you’re crazy. That’s a whole team and a sixth man that you can keep with you at all times, just in case.
As you’ll see after the jump, each of these early Air Force 1 adopters are dressed as astronauts and sporting itty-bitty silver and white AF1s, since that’s what these guys were wearing when they appeared on that famous poster. Pretty cool set of collectibles if you’re the kind of person who’s got $2,000 to blow on limited edition figurines. Detailed shots after the jump.
