PepsiCo needs to hire Stan Van Gundy immediately — and it seems like he might be available pretty soon — because this would be the best commercial for Diet Pepsi. A boss is talking about how his best employee wants him to be fired, then the employee comes up and gives him a hug and acts like there’s no problem because he didn’t hear what the boss just said. The whole thing ends with the boss taking a big swig of DP and leaving without a care in the world while the employee is completely stunned to find himself in a mess he created.

I’m a Diet Coke guy through and through, but that might get me to change allegiances. It’s like those Southwest Airlines “Want to get away?” spots, only far more cringeworthy.

  1. Wow! What a horrible situation. Howard has wrecked the team with this side show. I feel for Van Gundy. I think he is a good coach but he will not be successful with the Magic as long as Howard is there.

  2. Looks like Patrick Ewing will get his head coaching shot.

  3. Best thing about this is that Stan is completely honest about everything, and then Dwight comes and tries to hide the truth, and ignore all concequences of saying publicly that he wants his coach fired. He just ruins everything for them in Orlando.

  4. Stan Van Gundy is the best. I’m actively rooting for him to get fired so that he can be picked up to work with JVG doing color commentary for games.

  5. I’d love to see svg take on dwight in the nba all star skills challenge

  6. The best part is when Dwight comes in to the picture an Stan just looks like his child. His white child with a big mustache, but still kinda like his child.

    akward interview is akward indeed.

  7. Are Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum competing for who can be the most immature center in the league? Because if they are, it’s a lost cause. Javale has them beat by a mile and a half. They should stop trying.

    • Javale is immature in an “aww, isn’t that cute” way, like when he goaltends as if he’s spiking a volleyball. Bynum and Dwight are immature in a “kill team chemistry, kill championship hopes” way.

  8. This interview feels like it was produced by Ricky Gervais. You know what I mean? Like those painful and embarrasing situations in The Office and Life’s Too Short?

  9. Man I love SVG. I hope they do fire him so he can go coach the Knicks or Clippers and just faceroll the Magic or whatever team Howard goes to when he forces his way out of Orlando in a couple months when they start off the season terribly or get swept in this year’s playoffs.

  10. I’m with you fellow TBJ-followers, I love Stan Van Gundy as well. I hope the Magic keep him instead of Dwight, or that he finds a better job elsewhere where his talent will be appreciated. (Clips? Knicks? LAKERS? Anywhere!).

  11. If NJ want to try and maybe keep D-Will, they go get SVG. Avery is a clown.

  12. They shouldn’t get rid of SVG. They should get rid of Howard, he’s leaving anyways.

  13. Gotta kinda respect dwight here, we all know he’s a religious guy and with easter right around the corner he is getting his judahs on very well lol

  14. There’s no way there any Pepsi left in that can with the frequency he was chugging that thing. The sipping motion is definitely a nervous rick.

  15. Wow! Does this sort of drama go on all the time in professional sports or is this whole thing with Dwight over the top? I like him, but it seems like he causes many hard feelings and problems unnecessarily! Why did he stay with the Magic if he was so unhappy with the coach? I love SVG and hated to think about Dwight leaving, but now I am changing my mind. They say women cause drama????

  16. SVG: I hate bullshit
DH: Here’s a bunch more bullshit. aren’t we cute together?
    SVG:I’m gonna go (SVG leaves)
Reporters:we heard you hate SVG as coach and want him fired, true?
DH: …aren’t we …..cute…..together..? you all watch ESPN.

This is the executive summary of ths video.

  17. Stan Van = AWESOME

  18. The funniest part of this whole thing is the reading some of the #stanvangundypepsiswig posts on Twitter. I agree with the person who said this is like something from “The Office” except you can’t make this stuff up.

  19. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your website?

Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little
more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two images.
Maybe you could space it out better?

  20. I seriously love your blog.. Great colors & theme.
Did you create this amazing site yourself? Please
reply back as I’m attempting to create my own site and would love to find out where you got this from or what the theme is
    called. Many thanks!
