what’s the deal with everyone freaking out over this lebron game (and rondos insane game 2), when lebron had a game a couple weeks back against the pacers where he went COMPLETELY nuts and no one seemed to care?!? what was it, 40-sth points, 18 rebounds, 9 assists in the conference semis? c’mon son, i hate that dude, but THAT was really unreal. how come this game is a big deal but the other one wasn’t? just because of shooting percentages and importance?
i mean, ok, yesterday’s game was insane, but it pales in comparison to the one against the pacers, at least statistically (which is apparantly what we’re talking about, since we’re comparing stats to wilt chamerlain here, see link in trey’s post)
What makes this game more important were the stakes. The Heat had their backs against the wall in an elimination game on the road. And from the opening whistle you could just see that LeBron was not going to allow this team’s season to end. Yes the stats in the Pacers game were more impressive, but if he doesn’t have that game against the Pacers, the Heat still live to fight another day.
I think a big reason why stars earn so much money nowadays is because they have to cope with stuff like this.. media, rude fans, expectations… gimme one million dollar and you can spill beer on my face to wake me up every morning!
There is no good reason to ever throw a drink on a person. Unless they’re on fire, I suppose, and your drink isn’t alcohol-based.
