Call me crazy, but I think there should be a special provision that allows for highlight plays to count even if they’re barely after the whistle. Sure, you’d get in to some problems with buzzer-beaters that shouldn’t count, but it’d be worth it for plays like this, where Kyle Lowry throws the ball as high as possible and still swishes the shot when it comes down, like he’s hitting a 25-pointer in Rock n’ Jock basketball.
I might not have your support on this issue, but I’m sure Dan Cortese is on my side. If anyone can find him, that is.
