Ballin: Just your standard 39-7-8 line for LeBron James, who also added three steals and a block while completely dominating inside. Moving on.

Not so much: Not only did the Timberwolves score a season-low 77 points in their loss to the Clippers, the injury-ravaged Minnesotans also lost Nikola Pekovic and Alexey Shved to new injuries. This is literally the definition of adding insult to injury.

Good start: That Lakers-Heat game ended up being competitive, but it did not start that way.

Yeah, that’s four dunks to start a game. Going further, the Heat’s first non-dunk or layup didn’t come until there was only 3:45 remaining in the first quarter. Also, quick reminder that the Los Angeles Lakers have a three-time Defensive Player of the Year at center.

Newsies starring Christian Bale: If you somehow missed it, here are this year’s All-Star starters. No surprises.

Throwback: Here is a Phoenix Suns highlight from Shannon Brown, two entities who peaked long ago.

Remember when it was a thing to get Shannon Brown in the dunk contest? Let’s not do that again.

A whole new world: Before last night’s win, the Bucks hadn’t won in Phoenix since Feb. 21, 1987. That means more than 200 current NBA players had never seen that happen in their lifetimes.

Jamaican PA: Iman Shumpert is back, y’all.

It’s just too bad that Flattop had to make his comeback in London, otherwise I’m sure he’d have got a pretty nice ovation. Next time, I gues.

Clutch: If you are a Lakers fan, this is your least favorite part of the Dwight Howard experience. If you are not, this is your favorite part.

Other things: Robert Sacre remains the best thing about the Lakers … Just look at the faces on Kobe and Steve Nash during a huge LeBron dunk … If you haven’t seen Nike’s new Kobe ad, you should watch it … Haven’t found video online yet since Hulu doesn’t exist in Canada, but Roy Hibbert and Miles Plumlee had cameos on “Parks and Recreation” last night. Miles didn’t say a word and Roy couldn’t get through his lines without giggling, but still … The latest episode of “Shaqtin’ a Fool” is worth your time … GIF up top is via SB Nation

  1. oh my god this gif

  2. Okay so Lebron is the best and everything but at :24 he just stiff-arms the would-be defender on the fast break. Is that allowed?

    • Everyone agrees he’d be a great football player, so I guess the answer is yes.

      • First time, long time and I get the reply from Trey on my first comment. I think that’s a walk-off…

        • totally enjoying this for you. I love how deep down we’re basically all ‘the peggy olsen to the TBJ-guys’ don draper’:
“we are all here because of you. all we wanna do is please you”.
          except maybe for serge.

    • For him, yes & if he would’ve cocked his head back, Earl Clark would’ve been called for the foul. It’s science.

  3. To recap, having two starters on an All-Star team means your team is “dominating” a lineup & while the Lakers having two starters means they’re dominating, the Clippers having two starters doesn’t mean that they’re dominating.

  4. if you heard the Inside Trax – don’t you find it weird that Steve Nash calls Ron Artest, “Metta” when calling him out?

  5. Am I the only one who heard Reggie Miller ask Steve Kerr last night, “Are you shitting me?” I don’t remember what they were discussing, but I played it back several times. Marv didn’t comment on it and it sort of just slipped by.

  6. watt’s up with bosh and lebron?
bosh looks quite upset and very passive after LJ stole his rebound at 0:40 left at the 4q
maybe he is still mad at him for drying him at 1:10 to go.
