Ballin: 32 points on 15-23 shooting for Dwyane Wade, who helped lead the Heat to a franchise record 15th straight victory. He also added 10 assists and seven rebounds because he was tired of LeBron James getting all the accolades for doing everything all the time.
Not so much: A good way to blow a fourth quarter lead is by giving up 42 points in the game’s final frame. And a good way to do that is by being the Toronto Raptors, who dropped what I believe is their zillionth game this season after taking a lead in to the fourth.
Fight!: Ray Allen and J.J. Barea got in to it last night.
Make sure you stick around until the end to peep J.J. tossing some slander at Ray-Ray. I’m not an expert lip reader, but I’m pretty sure he’s not yelling “YOU’RE A CULTURED GENTLEMAN!,” which is what you should always yell at Ray Allen.
A tale: In the first half of last night’s loss to the Knicks, Marreese Speights went 10-10 for 21 points. In the second half, he went 0-4 and scored two points. Guess which half his team won. (HINT: It’s the first.)
Right round baby: Montyellyhavitall.
Maybe I’m a hater for mentioning this, but a simple Derrick Rose-ish reverse would have worked perfectly here. Wouldn’t have looked nearly as cool, but Enes Kanter was going to be drifting by no matter what, so finishing on the right side of the glass would have been easy either way. Glad he went this way though.
Vierd: The Nuggets beat the Hawks in Denver last night, as expected, but who do you think took the most shots in the game? Probably not who you think. Answer below.
Lame: Want to see one of the most wack off-the-backboard alley-oops ever? You’re going to matter what, so get ready.
Does it really count as an alley-oop when the guy who catches it still has a foot on the ground when he catches it? Don’t think too hard about that. It’s best we just forget about this and move on.
OK: The Magic beat the Hornets.
Other things: Here’s video of all 12 of Luke Walton’s assists from last night, which is a thing that really happened …Here is some supposed evidence that Dwight Howard can make 80 percent of his free throws while no one is looking … Tyson Chandler’s rich and Steve Novak is ripped … Out on JaVale McGee … Corey Brewer took 20 shots last night, three more than any Hawk and seven more than any other Nugget

Gracious of MattyO not to clear the Iditarod field again this year.
J.J. Barea should have taken a page from Ibaka’s book and hit Ray Allen in the groin…that way it would only have been a Flagrant-1 and he wouldn’t have been ejected.
This league is awful. How does Carmelo Anthony only get a flagrant 1 a few weeks ago after slapping/punching Spencer Hawes in the back of the head and Barea gets thrown out after a little chest bump?
Agreed, Tuck. Carmelo is a coward and literally laughs off the flagrant-1 while JJ “The Termite” Barea has to leave the game for standing up to Allen? Bad message of inconsistency being sent by the officials. Protect the stars.
1. JJ was right this time being a bit more physical!
2. monta’s move was way niiiiicer than wall’s one…you praised a bit too much yesterday!
3. Luke walton is playing his best season!
4. the heat won’t win the playoffs!
5. LeBryan Nash is the best name a basketballplayer ever had!
The Lakers math ain’t great. I only checked one, but Sacre’s FT % should be 87, not 90, unless I’m reading the totals wrong.
Chalk one up for JJ “Napoleon Complex” Barea. He may be a midget, but he wants to show he’s tough.
none of rubio’s sweet plays that nba.com highlights saw fit to ignore in their video recap? dang.
According to NBA.com, that off-the-backboard alley-oop was the top play from last night. Maybe they just really like Meyers Leonard over there?
Oh but Corey Brewer IS who I guessed. /horntoot
jj barea is probably one of the toughest players in the league. you wont see many little guys really attacking people like that. i don’t think that was a flagrant 2 though
Ed Malloy is a dick. Why the T on Adelman? Inbound the ball already.
A couple of those Walton assists were pretty far off from being actual assists.
Barea was actually playing some tough defense and Ray was clearly frustrated by it so he acted like a baby. What a shame. I guess that is what happens when you play with heat they give you the special treatment.
That’s not a flagrant of any sort. Its a hard foul. NBA has gotten to soft and that call was a joke. JJ is right though, Ray Allen is a pussy.
Hey Ray, “oh don’t get MAD!” You remember that shit in the one on one, Shuttlesworth? Get a hold of yourself.
Kirby don’t worry, the Monte comment was expected from you. Swoon over Rose any chance you get at the expense of other players. Oh..Derrick, so fierce, so ECONOMICAL!!!
wow, so JJ flops, gets mad shoves allen and he flops and JJ gets a fragrant 1? LOLOL at least it wasnt a harlem shake video
