“This cinnamon roll ain’t got nothin’ on me.” — Dirk Nowitzki
(via Raúl Marzo)

Fox Sports Southwest had injured All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki mic’d on the bench for a good chunk of Tuesday night’s Raptors/Mavericks game, and, as expected with The German, hilarity ensued.

A few highlights included Dirk discussing German heavy metal rock bands; tentatively bringing the viewer back from commercial break; making fun of Brian Cardinal’s age; and much, much more.

Look, I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll keep saying it: Dirk is the funniest guy in the league, no doubt.

Tuff Juice, the Caron Butler energy drink. Yum.

You know, we see more and more of these silly NBA Christmas videos every year, but we never see the teams talking about their own Christmas videos. And really, there’s not much better than when professional athletes get to rip on their teammates. ‘Tis always delightful and this little video of The Score’s Brad James talking to the Pistons about their latest set of Christmas carols is no exception.

I particularly like DaJuan Summers’ “That boy talented” about Austin Daye, DaJuan Summers’ high notes and DaJuan Summers boldly declaring that he’s the best singer on the team. Basically, anytime DaJuan Summers is on the screen, he’s the best. Who knew?

Next time, let’s hope Brad gets the Pistons to talk about that other Christmas video from the team’s storied caroling past. I’d be very interested to hear from Jason Maxiell what is was like to record a “Jingle Bells” remix with Rasheed Wallace. I can’t be the only one.

Borderline offensive? Not in my book. But hey, what do I know? I record podcasts about dolphin sex and shit.

According to the Mavericks’ YouTube page, “the single most powerful force in the universe is not gravity, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ or the product that keeps Jimmy Johnson’s hair from moving … it is Dirk Nowitzki’s fall-away jump shot.”

What should you do, LeBron? Be legendary, I guess.
